Traveling with your pet
Hawaii Superferry will transport certain domestic animals from island to island without an HDOA certificate. Cats, dogs, chickens, pigeons and rabbits can travel on us, but please observe a few rules:
- Please make reservations in advance if you plan to travel with a pet.
- The pet must be contained in an IATA-approved leak-proof kennel/container.
- The pet-in-kennel may be considered as one of the two pieces of checked-in baggage allowed free of charge per passenger as long as the measurements do not exceed 13” X 22” X 34” (similar to Sky Kennel #200), and the combined weight of the pet and the kennel does not exceed 50 pounds.
- If the kennel is an additional piece of checked in baggage, larger than 13” X 22” X 34”, and up to 70 pounds, customer will be assessed a fee of $25 for each piece of excess baggage, and acceptance will be determined upon space availability at the time of check in.
- If you are a walk-on passenger and plan to carry more than two pet containers, please contact our reservations center so that it can be noted in your booking.
- Both the animal and kennel will be subject to inspection and approval.
- Pets are not allowed to travel with unaccompanied children under 18 years old.
