Traveling with a Vehicle
What could be more convenient—and fun—than traveling from island to island with your own vehicle? Here are some tips to ensure everything goes smoothly:
- Ensure your vehicle is free of mud and caked-on dirt.
- You can leave all luggage and gear in your vehicle.
- Drivers must have valid driver’s license, valid vehicle registration and proof of valid insurance for all vehicles (including trailers and vehicles on trailers) ready for inspection.
- You must accompany your vehicle on the voyage. Vehicles cannot be transported without a passenger.
- If the registered owner is NOT driving, you must have a "Vehicle Movement Authorization" (VMA) for each vehicle, including all trailers and vehicles on trailers, signed by the registered owner in the presence of a notary public.
- RE/MAX offices around the state will notarize VMA forms free of charge. Find a RE/MAX location near you.
- Bankoh customers can get VMA forms notarized free at any branch. Most bank branches have notary services – prices vary.
